HUMAN RESOURCES ANALYST
BASIC FUNCTIONS: The
Human Resources Analyst is responsible for HR database development, employee
relations, compensation and benefits, workers’ compensation and general human
resources responsibilities for The Baby Fold.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Creates and
maintains M.S. Access database(s) for tracking and maintaining human
resources data. Writes,
maintains and supports a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate
reporting tools.
Coordinates
with hiring supervisors to develop and implement effective recruitment
strategies. Oversees the
process of receiving, tracking, evaluating, filing and response for all
incoming applications and employment inquiries.
Acts as an
ongoing resource to hiring supervisors throughout the employment process.
Ensures that
current and accurate job descriptions and position evaluations are available
for all positions.
Assists in
the development and administration of agency compensation and benefits
systems. Coordinates insurance
enrollments and communicates with service providers concerning routine
administration of programs.
Assists in
providing new employees with an initial orientation to The Baby Fold.
Conducts exit interviews.
Promotes a
positive work environment in all interactions with employees and through
project and committee work.
Assists with
the development and implementation of appreciation events and recognition
for employees. Assumes primary
responsibility for planning and implementing agency-wide employee events.
Provides
assistance, notifications, and recordkeeping for employees taking FMLA and
other leaves of absence.
Assists in
developing personnel policies and procedures that will support fulfillment
of The Baby Fold’s mission.
Responsible for official agency communications with employees.
Utilizes monthly employee newsletter, intranet, emails, and memos as
communication media. Assists
with preparation of All Staff Meeting presentations.
Models the
agency’s core values of respect, integrity, teamwork, excellence, and
stewardship in all interactions.
Exercises
professional leadership by keeping abreast of current trends and
developments in field of responsibility.
Assists the
VP of HR in the development of department goals and strategic planning
objectives for the department.
Provides
training, tools, techniques, and guidance to supervisors and as needed to
assist with human resources issues, such as the employment process, employee
relations, coaching, and performance management.
Represents
The Baby Fold in business contacts with professionals and the public outside
the agency.
Provides
direction for the maintenance of personnel records and ensures they comply
with all relevant labor laws.
Oversees the
creation and maintenance of all required employment records, including
individual personnel files and all required EEO and Affirmative Action data.
Analyzes
employment related data, including applications, hires, performance ratings,
merit increases, promotions, terminations, initial employment surveys, exit
interviews, and staff injuries.
Prepares required reports and identifies trends and implications for
practice.
Responds to
relevant salary and benefit surveys, analyzes results, and develops
recommendations for changes.
Develops and
maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintains
other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
Assists in
assessing staff training needs and developing, promoting, and providing
staff training opportunities.
Assists in developing and promoting career development for employees.
Assists in administering the performance management system and
ensures that supervisors have the tools needed to effectively implement it.
Ensures that
The Baby Fold’s HR functions fully comply with all relevant laws,
contractual regulations, licensing standards, and accreditation standards.
Interprets agency policy and labor laws regarding disciplinary
action. Consults with
employment attorney as needed.
Ensures the agency’s labor law posters are up-to-date.
Takes
proactive measures to ensure that health and safety of all employees.
Promotes health and wellness through communication, activities,
involvement with Employee Relations Committee, and coordination with nursing
staff.
Files and
provides follow up for workers’ compensation claims.
Provides
assistance, notifications, and recordkeeping for employees taking FMLA and
other leaves of absence.
Contributes
to quality improvement through active participation in Quality Improvement
activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business management or
related field. Three to five
years of relevant human resources experience.
HRCI certification preferred.
Strong skills in using Microsoft Office, including Access database
development, and other computer applications used in
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential
situations and documentation.
Strong analytical skills, comfortable working with data and conducting
research.
Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials,
establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to organize efficiently, establish priorities, and attend to
details.
Must pass drug screen and necessary background checks. Ability and
willingness to travel for job responsibilities, including a valid driver’s
license and use of a personal vehicle with adequate insurance.
Ability to work cooperatively as a team member with other agency staff.
Demonstrated competence in serving a culturally diverse population.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse
workforce.
Mission-oriented and willing to apply The Baby Fold’s standards and beliefs
to the performance of job duties.
