Therapeutic Stabilization Worker, part-time
(Bloomington-Normal and Roanoke, IL)
BASIC FUNCTION: The Therapeutic Stabilization Worker is responsible for assisting the clients in learning skills to enable them to participate in age appropriate normalizing behaviors in their communities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Creates a positive living environment for children.
Implements approved treatment plans and evaluates outcomes.
Models and maintains high health and safety standards. Ensures the safety of children through constant supervision.
Structures and intervenes in individual and group dynamics to promote growth and self-esteem in children.
Communicates and interacts in a way which is developmentally appropriate, positive, and helpful to the children’s treatment using proper tone, volume, and cadence of voice.
Communicates and models appropriate behavior, language and hygiene.
Maintains professional boundaries with children and their families.
Completes all required record keeping and data collection.
Works cooperatively with other team members.
Communicates any concerns to supervisor.
Provides input to treatment team.
Transports child to and from community activities in the community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must qualify as a Mental Health Professional: bachelor’s degree, licensed practical nurse, or five or more years of supervised experience in mental health or human services.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
One year experience working with children with severe behavioral and emotional disabilities.
Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention strongly preferred.
Medicaid experience preferred.
Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends.
Demonstrated competence in serving a culturally diverse population.
Physical ability to maintain the safety and well being of children for whom there is responsibility.
Must pass drug screen and necessary background checks.
Must meet DCFS driver eligibility requirements.
Ability and willingness to travel for job responsibilities, including the
ability to drive distances, enter the homes of families in the service area,

PAY RATE: $12/hr.
