2015 Festival of Trees Raises $203,338 to support programs of The Baby Fold

The Baby Fold’s Festival of Trees netted $203,338 to help children and families served by The Baby Fold. The Festival of Trees is the single largest fundraising event of the year for The Baby Fold and was held November 20-22rd at the Interstate Center.

“We are pleased with the results and grateful to all of the volunteers, businesses, churches and community organizations who work to make this event possible.,” said Baby Fold President/CEO Dianne Schultz. “Because of this generous community support, we were able to raise critical funds that support the needs of children and families in our community who are struggling with severe emotional and behavioral issues.”

This year an estimated 7,000 guests visited the Festival of Trees at the Interstate Center decorated with hundreds of custom designed trees, wreaths, centerpieces, gingerbread items, holiday decorations and celebrity items. All together the Festival auction sold 537 holiday items! More than 1200 volunteers were involved in the event.

Highlights from the 2015 Festival included Opening Night kick-off event on Nov 19, Avanti’s Family Night on Friday, Breakfast with Santa. an Adoption Celebration for adoptive families and children, and a new Trivia Night event on Saturday, and a Sunday worship service with HOPE United Methodist Church.   New features included a more elegant look provided by Palace Events and a new Festival Café location and vendor, BraiZe.

Leadership for the 2015 Festival of Trees

The Baby Fold is pleased to announce that Vicki Tilton and her daughters Casey Pirtle and Denise Geske will serve as the Honorary Chairs for the 22nd annual Festival of Trees. Vicki and her daughters own and operate Fox & Hounds Salon in Bloomington, Illinois.

The Baby Fold also wishes to welcome the following Festival Committee Chairs: Debi Grossman (Designer), Courtney Lahr (Senior Day), Charlene Blary (Operations), Dale Whitwood (Operations), Larry & Marilyn Maffett (Ticket Sales), Lindsey Powell & Ann Harding (Gift Shop) and Danielle Miller-Schuster (Presentation, Mission, Marketing).

Did you know that almost every item at the Festival has an Angel Price?

All of the items at the Festival are up for silent auction, but if you don’t want to keep coming back to re-bid on your favorite items, you don’t have to!

The Angel Price is similar to the “buy it now” on e-bay.

Want to Learn How to Design? Come to the Jeffrey Alans Workshop!

The Jeffrey Alans workshop is a great way to get you started on designing your tree. The Workshop will be this Saturday, October 17th beginning at 10:00 am. The workshop will provide hands on demonstrations and tips for decorating your trees. The Designer Committee will be there to answer any questions you may have. There will also be valuable coupons available for attendees, compliments of Jeffrey Alans. This is also the time to pick up your pre-ordered 4’ trees! We hope to see you there!
