Development and Public Relations department is responsible for raising donated funds to support The Baby Fold’s programs and services and increasing community awareness of The Baby Fold.

Fundraising is the primary activity of this department.  There is an emphasis on broad-based community financial support for annual operational needs as well as major gifts that can increase the agency’s endowment fund and ensure the future financial stability of The Baby Fold.

Community Awareness is achieved through a variety of means.  Development and Public Relations employees make presentations and conduct agency tours for hundreds of groups each year.  This department produces official agency publications and is the official media contact for agency news and publicity.

Church Relations are an important area of focus since The Baby Fold has been a ministry of the United Methodist Church since the agency’s beginnings.  United Methodist congregations in the Illinois Great Rivers Annual Conference support The Baby Fold through prayers, financial gifts, and volunteer services.  The Baby Fold provides speakers for United Methodist worship services and other gatherings as a way of keeping United Methodists informed about their ministry to children and families. 

Festival of Trees is an annual fundraiser that is coordinated through Development and Public Relations.  Hundreds of community volunteers come together to create a family-oriented event that raises awareness of The Baby Fold and raises funds for the agency’s operations.
