Horizons Counseling, a counseling service of The Baby Fold that serves children, families and adults in Central Illinois, is now accepting clients with Health Alliance and Humana insurance.

Horizons already covers clients with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Private Health Care Systems (PHCS), creating a large network of coverage for individuals in the Bloomington-Normal area.  Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs – Ceridian and Magellan) are also accepted by Horizons Counseling and can be accessed through an individual’s employer as available.

With over 100 years of experience helping children and families, Horizons Counseling of The Baby Fold is the area leader in the treatment of childhood trauma. The professional staff are experts in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Reactive Attachment Disorders (RAD).  Horizons therapists also use evidence-based therapeutic approaches to provide accurate assessments and successfully establish hope, healing, and solutions in the lives of individuals and families.

Dr. Rob Lusk of The Baby Fold’s Horizons Counseling talks to WJBC’s Beth Whisman about dealing with a child’s misbehavior utilizing a “basket approach”.

Prompted by a desire to extend the expertise of our staff to the community-at-large, The Baby Fold is pleased to announce the opening of Horizons Counseling. The counseling center is located at 1100 Beech Street, Building 7, in Normal’s Normandy Village.

Horizons provides a wide variety of counseling services by Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPCs) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs). Services are focused on children, teens, adults, families and couples. No referral is necessary to receive counseling at Horizons and services may be covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield and Private Health Care Systems (PHCS).

“As times change, families face new challenges,” says Rob Lusk, Director of Clinical Services for The Baby Fold. “The Baby Fold staff understands these challenges and knows the stress and pressure children and adults feel when things are out of balance.
