Academic Services

Academic Services at The Baby Fold consists of elementary and high school programs, outreach to rural families in need, and training and consultation services.

Hammitt School operates both non-public elementary and high school programs for children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional, learning, and pervasive developmental disabilities ages three through twenty-one.

Academic Services Offered

Hammitt High School

Hammitt School students are accepted into the program following a referral from the student’s home school district.  Each student has an individual education program and is instructed with methods unique to the learning style of the student.  A social learning theory approach is used to change maladaptive behavior patterns and improve social skills.    Hammitt School provides speech and language therapy, adaptive physical education, nursing, and psychological services.  Social work and home intervention services are offered to families of Hammitt School students to enhance parenting skills, increase parental involvement and advocacy, and support child behavior management in the home setting.  Hammitt High School also provides vocational and therapy services.   The goal for each child at Hammitt Elementary School is to be able to return to his or her public school system.  Hammitt High School students may or may not return to public school prior to high school graduation, but it is The Baby Fold’s goal to prepare all high school students for adult living.
