Horizons Counseling is the leader in the treatment of childhood trauma.
The treatment methods and programs used by Horizons’ counselors were
developed using research conducted by several of the leading experts
in the field of childhood trauma. Our staff is extensively trained
in these methods, which have helped thousands of families and children
over the past 100+ years.
Horizons is the expert in effective treatment of PTSD and attachment
disorders including RAD.
At Horizons, we have more experience than anyone in the area in the successful
treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and attachment disorders
including RAD and we have more resources devoted and allocated to these
methods. We staff the majority of therapists throughout the Central Illinois
region who specialize in the most effective treatment method for PTSD
in children and adults: EMDR (or eye movement desensitization and reprocessing).
We also have extensive ongoing training in the treatment of attachment
disorders guided by the principles of The Theraplay Institute, Dr Bruce Perry’s research
at the Child Trauma Academy, Nancy Thomas, Dr. Foster Cline, Love and
Logic Institute, and Dr. Daniel Hughes.
Horizons is built on a 100+ year foundation of family, childhood, and
community support.
As part of The Baby Fold organization, we have access to some of the
best resources and experience in serving the unique needs of local individuals.
We are the long-time experts on supporting families, providing solutions,
and offering hope throughout Central Illinois.
Horizons’ therapists use evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
At Horizons Counseling, we believe counseling has to begin with an accurate
assessment. Unlike our competitors, we look to evidence-based therapeutic
approaches which means a better success rate for you and your family.
We work to identify issues and develop treatment plans based around
improvement and the conclusion of needed counseling. We believe in
providing effective solutions for you and your family and do that by
using concrete information to accurately diagnose and treat each client.
