Expert Instructors and Trainers

Rob Lusk, PhD,
Clinical Director 

Dr. Lusk has devoted his career to working with trauma survivors and their families, and providing training and consultation on trauma-related issues, parenting special needs children, attachment disorders, psychotropic medications, reintegration after deployment, and psychiatric disorders.

As Clinical Director of The Baby Fold, Dr. Lusk designs and implements new programs, and provides clinical supervision, consultation and oversight to all of the agency’s treatment programs. 

Prior to coming to The Baby Fold, Dr. Lusk was on the faculty at UCLA and Illinois Wesleyan University.  He continues to instruct courses at Illinois Wesleyan University and has been actively involved in investigative research on trauma since 1985. He has consulted with a number of schools in Illinois, California, Washington, and Wisconsin. Dr. Lusk has presented at local, regional, national, and international conferences on understanding and treating psychological trauma, and has published several articles and book chapters on the effects and treatment of child trauma.  He also serves as a national trainer for PESI on understanding and treating trauma, and has trained thousands of professionals in more than 20 states.

Dr. Lusk earned his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of California at Los Angeles and has trained in a variety of interventions including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) model, Collaborative Problem-Solving, couples and family therapy, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Keith Brotheridge, MSW LCSW,
Training Coordinator 

Mr. Brotheridge has worked at The Baby Fold since 2008, serving as the Therapy Supervisor and Assistant Director of the Residential Treatment Center for the first eight years of his career there.

Currently, as Training Coordinator, Mr. Brotheridge is tasked with providing trauma-informed training and consultation to the entire agency to ensure that all programs operate in a trauma sensitive manner. Mr. Brotheridge has also provided extensive trauma-informed trainings to various schools and agencies across the Central Illinois area. 

Prior to coming to The Baby Fold, Mr. Brotheridge spent 15 years as a therapist, clinical manager, and site director at Family Service of Northwest Ohio, where he worked extensively with children and families impacted by the trauma of domestic violence. He is also a founding board member of the Cocoon, a battered women’s shelter in Wood County, Ohio.

Mr. Brotheridge is a trained educator in Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI), a trauma model developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross at Texas Christian University. He is also trained as a Master Trainer of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Mr. Brotheridge attained his Master’s in Clinical Social Work from The Ohio State University and is trained in a variety of interventions including trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, Theraplay, and the aforementioned TBRI.

Kathleen Bush, PhD, MA, LAPC,
Associate Director of Clinical Services 

Dr. Bush oversees The Baby Fold’s Adoption Support and Preservation program as well as Foster Care therapy program while concurrently assisting agency-wide therapists training as Associate Director of Clinical Services.

She is a consultant to Texas Christian University Karyn Purvis Institute for Child Development and on the Illinois DCFS Adoption Advisory Council, QIC-AG Implementation Team, and QIC-AG Stakeholder Team. Dr. Bush co-authored Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) for Adopted Children Receiving Therapy in an Outpatient Setting. Dr. Bush is recognized internationally as an expert lecturer on Trusting Up the ARC (Integrating TBRI and ARC Therapy Model for Better Treatment), Trust Based Relational Intervention, Integrative Parenting, Using the ARC Model in Adoption Preservation (co-presented with Dr. Lusk), Mindfulness, Understanding Trauma, Creating a Trauma Informed School Environment, and Managing Children with Trauma in the Classroom.

Dr. Bush has a Master’s degree in counseling from Bradley University and her doctorate is from Chicago School of Professional Psychology: International Psychology- Trauma track.  She possess a vast array of trainings including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Self-Regulation and Competency, Theraplay, Neuro-Sequential Model of Therapeutics, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Kelli Brown, PhD,
School Psychologist

Dr. Kelli Brown works as School Psychologist at The Baby Fold at Hammitt Elementary School.  Kelli has been with The Baby Fold since 1994. 

Her important work consists of collaborating with teachers and school districts to provide services to students with severe emotional disabilities at our therapeutic day treatment school.  Dr. Brown’s areas of interest and specialties include animal-assisted therapy (therapy dog Bubba is pictured), trauma-informed care, and social-emotional regulation.

Rev. Lori Bultemeier,
Christian Life Coordinator

Rev. Lori Bultemeier works as Christian Life Coordinator at The Baby Fold in Development and Public Relations. Lori has been with The Baby Fold since 1986.

She works with children, families, and staff of The Baby Fold to meet their spiritual needs and provide pastoral care, as well as partnering with churches in our conference. Lori’s specialty is faith development for all ages and preaching. Many of her sermon illustrations and lessons come from her beloved dogs.

Laurie Fitzwater,
Supervising Teacher Therapist of Training and Consultation

Laurie works as Supervising Teacher Therapist of Training and Consultation at The Baby Fold at Hammitt Elementary School.  Laurie has been with The Baby Fold since 1985.

She works as a TCI trainer for staff  and provides consultation and training services to outside agencies and schools. She helps teachers and staff learn productive, positive strategies to help behaviorally challenged children find success. She enjoys reading, gardening and spending time with her Golden Retriever, Riley.

Carrie Green,
Autism Coordinator

Carrie works as Autism Coordinator at The Baby Fold at Hammitt Elementary School.  Carrie has been with The Baby Fold since 2010.

Her important work supports, trains and works alongside a team of staff who serve students with severe autism at Hammitt Elementary School’s campus.  Carrie’s areas of interest include team building, making connections, and finding joy in even the smallest successes.  Her hobbies outside of school include spending time on her family farm and camping with her own littles!

Lori Hirst, LCPC,
Post-Adoption Services Supervisor

Lori works as Post-Adoption Services Supervisor at The Baby Fold in Adoption Support and Preservation.  Lori has been with The Baby Fold since 2015.

Her important work helps Family Therapists in supporting adoptive families with an attachment-based, trauma-informed approach as they provide individual and family therapy with adopted children and adolescents and their families.  As a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner, provides TBRI training.  Lori’s areas of interests and specialties include child development, neuroscience, attachment-based therapy approaches such as Theraplay, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, and Integrative EMDR therapy.

Sue Ineich,
Supervising Teacher Therapist

Sue works as Supervising Teacher Therapist at The Baby Fold at Hammitt Junior-Senior High School.  Sue has been with The Baby Fold since 1990.

Sue began her career at The Baby Fold as a teacher therapist at Hammitt Elementary school and moved to the high school when it opened in 2002. She supervises the four traditional classrooms in the high school wing, consisting of 11 faculty and staff and up to 40 students with emotional/behavior difficulties and/or mental illness, through academics, social-emotional learning, vocational, and life skills. Sue’s specialties include consultation, behavior management, Love and Logic, Conscious Discipline. Her hobbies and interests include children/families, reading and exercise.

Dani Loseke,
Autism Coordinator

Dani works as Autism Coordinator at The Baby Fold at Hammitt Junior-Senior High School.  Dani has been with The Baby Fold since 2015.

As the Autism Coordinator, Dani helps to provide support to families with children on the autism spectrum.  Dani’s hobbies include crafting, decorating, and hanging out with her kids and dogs.

Michaelle Maier, MSW,
Clinical Supervisor

Michaelle works as Clinical Supervisor at The Baby Fold in Family and Community Services.  Michaelle has been with The Baby Fold since 2013.

Michaelle is a clinical social worker and has worked solely for non-profit agencies within Illinois since 2004.  She started her career as a SASS Case Manager which quickly identified her love and commitment for children with complex social and emotional needs, and led her to pursue a more clinically driven career.  Michaelle began developing her skills and focused treatment in the mental health field and continued outpatient therapy working with children ages 3-18 years of age.   She was trained in child-centered play therapy and sand tray therapy.  This was paired with completing assessments on children in crisis.  Since 2013, Michaelle focused on services to children in adoptive or guardianship based placements in over twenty-two counties in central Illinois.  Through her work in this program, Michaelle has further expanded her clinical skills and interest, working predominately with children with complex trauma and attachment based difficulties.  Michaelle is trained in various therapeutic techniques; including Theraplay, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).  Michaelle is also a Practitioner of Trust Based Relational Intervention, and has provided this psychoeducation program to parents across central Illinois.

Leona O’Dear,
Supervising Teacher Therapist 

Leona works as Supervising Teacher Therapist at The Baby Fold at Hammitt Junior-Senior High School.  Leona has been with The Baby Fold since 2017.

She helps with curriculum programming, IEP (Individualized Education Program) writing, emotional regulation programming, and crisis management with junior high students.  Leona’s areas of expertise include training on implementation of evidence-based practices and strategies to address behavioral challenges, writing Functional Behavioral Analysis and Behavior Intervention Plans, working with staff regarding self-reflection and identification of triggers and developing strategies to address compassion fatigue.  She shares her knowledge on different disabilities, accommodation and modifications, and different mental health diagnoses, such as conduct disorder and oppositional defiant disorder.

Krista Reichert, LCSW,
Family and Community Services Clinical Supervisor 

Krista works as Family and Community Services Clinical Supervisor at The Baby Fold in Adoption Support and Preservation.  Krista has been with The Baby Fold since 2011.

Krista is a licensed clinical social worker and has worked solely for non-profit agencies within Illinois since 2005.  She started her career as a child welfare specialist, quickly identifying a passion for children with complex emotional needs, which led her to pursue a more clinically driven career.   Initially in her clinical career, Krista focused on children in early childhood (0-5 years of age) developing her skills in child-centered play therapy, expressive art therapy and sand tray therapy.  This was paired with completing assessments on children (3-18 years of age) in crisis.  Since 2011, Krista focused on services to children in adoptive or guardianship based placements in over twenty counties in central Illinois.  Through her work in this program, Krista has further expanded her clinical skills and interest, working predominately with children with complex trauma and attachment based difficulties. In 2019, Krista became a Registered Play Therapist – Supervisor through the national Association on Play Therapy, allowing her to not only practice play therapy but offer supervision to clinicians pursing their own licensure in play therapy.

Mark Richmond, MA,
Family Therapist

Mark works as Family Therapist at The Baby Fold in Adoption Support and Preservation.  Mark has been with The Baby Fold since 2012.

Mark helps develop attachment between the child and parent for the purpose of improving the quality of life for the adopted child as well as the parents/families so that the child can reach his/her potential under God. Mark’s hobbies include the rearing and breeding of tropical fish, namely African cichlids, one of the most beautiful fresh water species.

Nancy Stevens,
Supervisor of Program Services

Nancy works as Supervisor of Program Services at The Baby Fold for Hammitt Schools.  Nancy has been with The Baby Fold since 1978.

Nancy provides direct therapy services for children who exhibit delays in their articulation, language and social interaction skills or who have difficulties with their voice or fluency, while providing consultation services for their families to help the family’s understanding of the child’s skill deficits and providing supports so that we can address skill development together.  Additionally, services are provided for students diagnosed with autism, who range from being non-verbal or minimally verbal, where the focus is on identifying effective methods of communication and use of augmentative communication devices, to those students who need training to use their verbal skills to interact effectively with others and to develop their understanding of others and their varying perspectives. Nancy supervises service provision of all speech and language services by the other four Speech and Language Therapists at all Hammitt School campuses.  Nancy is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the delivery of Occupational Therapy consultation services for students at Hammitt Schools and coordinating delivery of OT direct services with the service provider and the students’ districts.   Nancy also has frequent contact with the schools’ referring districts and helps facilitate a number of IEP meetings. She particularly enjoys her ability to help make a difference in the lives of the children we serve and the ability to collaborate with and serve as a mentor to other Hammitt Staff.  In her free time, Nancy enjoys spending time with other people, being outdoors, swimming, walking, biking and cooking.

Julie Stoll,
Assistant Principal

Julie works as Assistant Principal at The Baby Fold at Hammitt Junior-Senior High School.  Julie has been with The Baby Fold since 1996.

Collaboration with students, families, staff and community resources are critical to helping students and families at Hammitt Junior-Senior High School.  Julie utilities trauma-informed practices and additional proactive strategies to develop positive relationships with students and families as she helps students move toward adulthood and being as independent as possible.  Julie’s areas of interest and hobbies include taking classes, spending time with her husband and kids, traveling, quilting, and reading.

Lynn Stonecipher, LCPC,
Child and Family Therapist

Lynn works as a Child and Family Therapist at The Baby Fold in Adoption Support and Preservation.  Lynn has been with The Baby Fold since 2011.

Her important work includes Attachment, Emotional and Body Regulation, Trauma, Peer Problems, Family Adjustment, Grief, Educational Support, Therapeutic parenting, Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Attachment, and Self-Regulation and Competency (ARC) with children up to age 18 and their parents and families.  Lynn’s hobbies include antiques, reading mysteries, spending time with her family and exercising.

Jen Walbridge, MS,
Family Therapist

Jen works as Family Therapist at The Baby Fold in Adoption Support and Preservation.  Jen has been with The Baby Fold since 1998.

She provides individual and family therapy, psychoeducation, and case management and support to families who have adopted or taken guardianship of children across a 23 county area in Central Illinois.  Jen’s areas of interest and hobbies include Trust-Based Relational Interventions, the mind-body connection, complex developmental trauma, neurofeedback, and reading and basking in the sunshine whenever possible.
