Progressive Impressions International
Progressive Impressions International donated new school supplies for Hammitt Schools!
“Are there any Legos in the store?” This simple question came daily from a young Hammitt School student. Hammitt Elementary School has a very special school store. The students earn “money” for good behavior and for completing assignments. Then they get the privilege of shopping in the store for all kinds of neat things; bubble gum, potato chips, art supplies, toys (to name a few.) This is a powerful positive reinforcement to help these emotionally and behaviorally challenged students One student in Morgan Schulte’s class had been saving his “money” for a Lego set. This student would constantly ask Morgan if there were any Legos in the school store. Unfortunately, there weren’t, but Morgan is a very resourceful teacher and she knew a great resource – her friends and followers of Facebook and the Jammin’ for Hammitt Page. Dan Hubbard, a talented musician who has been a huge part of the Jammin’ for Hammitt Benefit Concert, and his wife and parents learned about this student who had been saving the “money” for a Lego set. Not only did this thoughtful family get the Lego set this student wanted, they bought all kinds of sets from the Lego Store in Chicago for the school store. Needless to say, the student was thrilled and so were all the other Lego enthusiasts!
